Week 8 Comments and Feedback

Overall, the quality of the comments and feedback that I receive from my peers is very good. Everyone who comments seems to be sticking to the word count rule. All comments posted are serious and project based. All comments are detailed and follow some kind of feedback format which is beneficial to both my peer and I. There is not joking or messing going on. People seem to be taking the feedback process quite seriously which is nice because I am taking it seriously and it is nice for it to be reciprocated.

The kinds of comments that I find the most useful are the 150 word comments about my game project. In these comments my peers are able to give a detailed review of my game and I am able to really find out how they feel about my game extensively.

I really like the feedback posts that make use of the 'WWW' feedback stratgedy. This is 'Wow!", "I wonder" and "What if..?". I find this beneficial because my fellow students tell me what they like about my project, they ask questions on what they are unsure of and they give suggestions. This way, I know what I'm doing right, what I need to work on and I learn a new way of doing something from their suggestion. Its really helpful to get an outsider's point of view when it comes to a project like this. I am the one making the game so I completely understand what I'm doing and what's going on. The feedback helps us to realise if what's in my imagination is coming across in my writing. I know what is or what isn't coming across clearly from the questions being asked.

I find I am getting some really good ideas from the comments left on my blogs. I have taken each of these comments into consideration when creating my game and have even used some in my game.

I believe I have left good quality comments on my peer's blogs. I make sure I keep to the word count and try to surpass that when I can. It's really interesting to see what others are doing. I try to follow the WWW feedback system in my comments. I find this really helpful because it gives structure to my comments so I'm not just waffling on about their game. It keeps me on track.

For definite, I have learned a lot more about my peers than I've known before. I learned things about people that would never come up in casual conversation so it was nice to get to know people on a different level. I like the idea of my blog being a place where people feel they can get to know me a bit more. Personally, I find it really interesting to see people's personalities coming out in their writing.

I think if I keep following the W.W.W feedback system I'll be on the right track to great commenting and feedback.
