My three possible game mechanics:
There will be fishing holes spotted across the landscape. In these fishing holes fish will jump out and stay in the air for a few seconds. The player will have to catch the fish before it goes back into the water. I looked into what penguins eat and it turns out that they eat squid, krill, crustacean and other seafood. For this mechanic of the game I can use the skill of collecting objects that I have already learned from the Jimmy Vegas tutorial's. I would have to incorporate the time limit and the point system into each of these fish. I think this link could help me to combine them.
There will be a point system for the fish that are caught, each fish will equate to different points. In the tutorial below, it shows you how to create a Point System. I could use this as reference when creating my own game.
There will be a time limit each run of the game. The aim of the game being to catch as many fish as you can in the time limit and try to beat your own personal best. The video below is a lesson in how to create a timer on Unity and could be really useful to me.
Hey Nicole!
ReplyDeleteYour penguin game idea sounds a fun game. Having the time limit and points system will be a cool way for people to challenge each other. I don't think it will be too difficult to make either. Just an idea but maybe a scoreboard could be added so you can check your top scores. I look forward to seeing how your finished game turns out. :)
