I read The Important Habit of Just Starting by Jory Mackay. This article focuses on the psychology behind procrastination. The thoughts of doing something like a college work for example is often worse than doing the actual work itself. Once you start, momentum takes over. There is something called the Zeigarnik Effect that kicks in when you are near finishing a task which makes you adamant to finish your task. I was interested to hear that the Zeigarnik Effect was a thing because it explains why I am stubborn to finish my assignments when I am near the end of them.
I also read Realistic Study Plans by Amanda Collins, from this article, I learned more about perfecting a realistic but effective study plan. I learned that it is important to tick off tasks completed, this provides us with a sense of achievement and provides us with the motivation to keep going. I will definitely carry this on throughout the semester. This article has also inspired me to use a daily planner, it sounds like a good idea to me, to set out goals for each day, not just weekly goals. This is something that will be useful in all my modules.
I think the toughest time of the year when my time management will really be tested is at the end of semesters, All modules will have an end of semester assignment due so this is when I will really have to plan my time well.
I have to agree with what your saying because I can relate to becoming stressed by the end of semesters and big upcoming deadlines approaching soon. I think a daily planner is such a good idea! I should probably do that because it might help me with the constant flow of assignments coming all the time. It could really help me out with pressure and stress. Really good read.
